RENT is one of those shows that like it really doesn’t matter if you actually like the show itself or not, if you enjoy modern theatre especially Broadway, you have to be thankful for its existence at the very least. It straight up changed the theatre world with having that type of music being appreciated on Broadway and for introducing the lotto/rush idea and has inspired so many actors, writers, designers, etc. Basically if you enjoy cheap tickets, 50-75% of current young Broadway actors, and shows that focus on PoC, LGBT, and other minorities issues with killer rock scores then you pretty much have Rent to thank
