skrullsgonewild:

things to remember when you’re listening to “dear theodosia”:

  • aaron burr raised his daughter to have all the education and advantages of a young man of that time
  • he was impressed by his daughter’s intelligence and competence - she really did grow up to “blow them all away”
  • as an adult, theodosia became her father’s most trusted confidante
  • they had a super close relationship and were not just father and daughter, but also good friends who respected one another
  • he trusted her to act on his behalf while he was in exile
  • theodosia worked tirelessly to bring him home
  • when he was finally able to return in 1812, she was lost at sea (and possibly murdered) while traveling to be reunited with him
  • she hadn’t even turned 30
  • burr had to live through the unimaginable just like hamilton did
  • and he basically lost his best friend and the one person who might have really understood him
  • she never got the chance to make her mark on that better new world he fought to pass on to her
  • theodosia burr was awesome and could have accomplished so much if she’d only had the time
